Interesting study from a university professor who spent 3 years studying the cuture of youtube.
There's definitely a disconnect, as students are using Facebook and text messaging to communicate. They work on homework over Facebook, set up parties over Facebook, and text each other even when they are standing a few feet apart. Teachers at our school continue to use email and/or FTF meetings to communicate, or even printed announcements in teacher's mailboxes. Some students are using email to communicate with teachers, and some use teacher's blogs to look up information, such as homework assignments.
